Cybersecurity Competitions

  • Sac State participated in the WesterRegional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (WRCCDC) 2019. Please see here for the opportunity. Sac State was ranked No. 1 during the invitational competition on Oct 13, 2018. Sac State advanced onto the WRCCDC Regional Final competition by ranking at No. 7 out of 21 universities during the WRCCDC Qualifier Competition on Feb 16, 2019, and then got No. 2 in "Best in Defense" category during the final competition on March 1-2, 2019.
  • Sac State participated in the Cyber Fire Challenge provided by Department of Energy in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos National Labs from Sep 28 to Sep 30, 2018. We were ranked No. 2.

CA Cybersecurity Education Summits

  • CIAS helped College of Continued Education with the organization of CA Cybersecurity Education Summit 2018 (Oct 9), hosted by Sac State in conjunction with four state partners: California Department of Technology, California Office of Emergency Services, The California National Guard, and California Highway Patrol.

Cybersecurity Summer Academies

  • CIAS helped College of Continued Education with the organization of Summer Academy for High School Students for Cybersecurity in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
  • CIAS helped College of Continued Education with the organization of Summer Academy for High School Students for Digital Forensics in 2019.

GenCyber Summer Camps

  • Sac State is making efforts to bring the GenCyber Cybersecurity Summer Camp to the Greater Sacramento Region for Secondary School (Grades 7-12) teachers. The details and registration information will be here if the application is granted.

Collaboratives with Community Colleges

  • Sac State and Sacramento Region Community Colleges reached agreement on Collaborative for Higher Education in Cybersecurity. One Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was resulted.
  • Sac State and Sacramento City College, Sierra City College, Cosumnes River College reached agreements on Substitutions of Lower Division Course Requirements for the Minor in Information Security and Computer Forensics Program at Sac State. Two Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) were resulted.
  • CIAS and Sacramento Region Community Colleges hold standing CAE Consortium meetings every semester to explore and discuss collaborations on cybersecurity education activities.
