Department Congratulates SEAOCC Design Competition Team

Fifth Win in Last Six Years

~For the fifth time in the last six years, Sacramento State Civil Engineering students won the Structural Engineering Association of Central California (SEAOCC) Structural Design Competition. The team consisted of (shown in the photo below from left to right ) Nelson Tejada, Kyle Cameron, Rakeeb “KB” Khan, Leslie Fung, and Max Hardy. The competition consisted of a design/build/test day hosted at UC Davis, where the students constructed a timber truss-type structure and a gave follow-up presentation to professional engineers three days later on their analysis and design approach. UC Davis placed second, and both University of the Pacific (UOP) and Chico State tied for third. The team was also awarded a $1,000 check that will be used for future SEAOCC Student Chapter events.
