Workshop Information

The MEP Workshop is based on "Studying Engineering: A roadmap to a rewarding career" by Raymond Landis, who is considered the "father" of MESA Engineering Programs (MEPs).

The workshop is designed so that ALL MEPers will have been exposed to the same information to build on their success through academic, career, and personal development. The purpose is to improve student success, to make the college experience more relevant to career goals, and to help students obtain as much assistance from the University as possible while working towards their engineering degrees.

Students work together and form study groups that will benefit them as they continue in their academic careers.

Some of the topics covered:

  • Academic Success and Study Skills
  • Time Management
  • Resume Building
  • Behavioral Interviewing
  • Financial Planning
  • Leadership Core Competencies
  • Engineering Design Process
  • GE Advising and class scheduling
  • Teambuilding
  • Students even get to hear from a panel of industry professionals and MEP alumni to give them insight and tools to be successful engineers!

The workshop is currently open to new MEP students only.
