Eligibility

There are two parts to the eligibility criteria in order to be accepted into MEP. Students must meet one of the criteria in each category in order to be considered for acceptance into the program.

PART ONE:

Eligibility for all students requires that at least one of these two criteria must be met:

  1. First-Generation College Student: Did either of your parents complete a 4-year university degree in the U.S? Y/N, OR
  2. Low-Income: Are you receiving need-based grant/scholarship aid like a Pell Grant or a Cal Grant? Y/N

PART TWO:

Students must meet one of the following:

  1. Student is a first-year freshman student (first two semesters attending Sac State)
  2. Student is a first-semester community college transfer student (first semester attending Sac State)
  3. Student is a past member of MESA, for at least one year, at any level (MESA Schools Program, MESA Community College Program)
  4. Student is currently enrolled in LSAMP
  5. Student is a former Foster Youth or part of the Guardian Scholars Program
  6. Student is a recently declared ECS major (within last two semesters)
