College of Engineering & Computer Science Mission

The mission of the College of Engineering and Computer Science is to:

• Educate a diverse population of students for positions in engineering, computer science, and construction management. Through dynamic, up-to-date curricula emphasizing theory and practice, graduates will be well-educated and prepared to participate in major changes in their disciplines.
• Educate students for advanced degrees in selected fields of engineering and computer science.
• Assist engineering and computer science professionals in maintaining currency in their fields by providing courses in new, developing, and evolving areas of engineering and technology.
• Provide laboratories and computer facilities that reflect state-of-the-art/practice.
• Develop mutually beneficial partnerships with our region's industries and governmental agencies.
• Encourage opportunities for student participation in co-curricular activities, such as, student design competitions and research projects.
• Build strong, cooperative relationships with local high schools and community colleges.
