Teaching Assistants
Teaching Associates. To be considered for a teaching associate position, a student must be classified as a graduate-level student, be enrolled in at least four units or registered for culminating experience, have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and meet all international student visa requirements (if applicable). All applicants must be able to articulate their skills and abilities verbally and in writing. New EEE students are not generally considered for TA positions the first semester.
Application Process. Students must apply to the Research and Sponsored Projects Center in Riverfront Center. Completed Graduate Assistant/TA applications must be accompanied by a resume and given to the Support Coordinator. The E&EE Department Chair reviews the applications at the time of hiring.
Teaching Associate Hiring Process. Students hired as Teaching Associates will receive a letter from Research and Sponsored Projects stating the terms of their employment with the University and instructions for payroll processing. Social Security Cards are required.
Teaching Associate Salary. Teaching Associates are paid according to the number of assigned units. Salary levels are determined at the time of hiring. A Faculty/Staff Payroll Calendar is available in the Department Office.
