The Cooperative Education (Co-op) Program began in the College of Engineering and Computer Science in September 1986. As of fall 2003, it has placed approximately 1,620 students in co-op positions. The Co-op Program is strongly endorsed by the College as a means to enrich a student's education. The academic content of the Co-op and non Co-op options (internships) is identical. The difference between the two paths is the Professional Practice course sequence 195 A - D taken by Co-op students. Credits earned do not count toward the total number of units required by the University to graduate with an E.E.E.B.S. degree.
