The College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Sacramento has partnered with several organizations including the Sacramento Section of IEEE, Capital Center MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Achievement), and SETRC (Sacramento Engineering and Technology Consortium) to offer an annual workshop for high school teachers interested in teaching pre-engineering concepts at the high school level. Our most recent workshop was held in September 2002, and attracted approximately 140 teachers, with over 50 from high schools across the State. 2003 will be the fifth year that we have offered this workshop. For more details please visit http://www.ehs.csus.edu/project/cec.

"Power Up Your Classroom" presents successful techniques that can help high school teachers introduce pre-engineering concepts with the aid of "hands-on" experiments. The experiments highlight problem solving and teamwork and serve as an excellent motivational tool to encourage students to study engineering.
