Student Assistants
Student Assistant GraderE&EE majors are hired every semester to assist instructors with grading homework, quizzes and tests. To qualify a student must have completed the course(s) at CSUS with at least a "B" grade, be recommended by the instructor and be enrolled in at least six units. Grading is a Level II-category position with a beginning hourly wage of $6.75. Each class normally requires 3-5 hours of grading every week. Workstudy-eligible students receive priority.
Student Clerical Assistant Clerical positions are occasionally available in the department office. Previous experience in a business environment is desirable. Excellent English written and oral communication skills are required. Normally, students continue in these clerical positions through graduation, so new hires are not made every semester. Check with the department office regarding current status.
Student Lab Assistant. Occasionally, EEE majors are hired to assist instructors with laboratory instruction. To qualify a student must have completed the course(s) at CSUS with at least a "B" grade, be recommended by the instructor and be enrolled in at least six units. This is a Level II-category position with a beginning hourly wage of $6.75. Each class normally requires 3-5 hours of assistance every week.
Student Assistant Application Procedure. To apply for any student assistant position, a Student Employoment Payroll Transaction Form and a Lab Assistance/Grader Application must be completed and submitted to the EEE Department Coordinator during the first week of the semester. Faculty members requesting assistance will review the applications the second week of the semester.
