Registration Process

Registration is prioritized by class level It begins with graduating seniors, moves through seniors, freshmen, classified grads, juniors, sophomores and ends with 2nd bachelor and unclassified graduates. If for any reason you cannot register through CASPER during the time noted on your Invitation to Register, an Add Permit must be submitted to the Department Office sponsoring the course. The Add Permit below is used by most departments, but not all.

Common restrictions preventing students from registering

• Major Status. Submit ECS Change of Major Form to Department
• Prerequisite. Submit EEE Special Consideration Petition to Department
• WPE Deficiency. Submit EEE Special Consideration Petition to Department
• Credit Limitations. Follow CSUS fee payment schedule or check academic contract.
• Too Many Units during CASPER. Must wait until CASPER+.
• Registration Holds. See Major Department for advising, or contact office initiating the hold.
